This has been a decade of challenges for coffee growers here in the islands. Cuts in services from the Department of Agriculture and CTAHR have coincided with economic downturns and the arrival of the Coffee Berry Borer or CBB. CBB has had a devastating effect on many farms in the Kona District on the Big Island of Hawaii. To help in this effort the Maui Coffee Association has pledged to donate all profits from the 200th Anniversary trademarked design licensing and has also worked to provide education to keep this pest from spreading to Maui County and the other islands in our state.
