Keokea Farms, A Labor of Love

Keokea Farms, located at nearly 3,000 ft. on the slopes of Haleakala, is owned and operated by Rafael Escobar and his wife Ann. They care for nearly 1,000 organically grown trees on their upcountry family farm.

The beans here are all hand-picked, pulped, dried and handled
by Rafael and Ann, with a little help from friends and family. A
favorite activity on their farm is the much-anticipated "picking
parties" they host when the harvest becomes overwhelming for just the two of them! Guests/pickers also enjoy participating in the pulping process and learn about the next steps the organic beans will go through up to the final roasting and bagging. There's nothing like a breezy afternoon on their beautiful coffee farm, with music wafting through the trees, followed by a chicken barbecue with all the trimmings.

Keokea Coffee is grown without chemical herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers and can be ordered for $16/8 oz. bag and $16.50/8 oz. bag ground via their email
